There are few examples in the literature of objective measures for the assessment of donor willingness. The author describes the scoring system in use at his own renal transplant unit which has brought objectivity to the process of determining the willingness of living related donors. In this system, a total score to determine the degree of willingness or unwillingness is calculated based on responses to a series of questions. The author believes that with minor modifications this system could be implemented (...) by transplant units in different countries and cultures to screen out donors who are acting under duress. Investigation of the 4 th order dynamic systems characteristic polynomials behavior in conditions of the interval parametric uncertainties is carried out on the basis of root locus portraits. The roots behavior regularities and corresponding diagrams for the root locus parameter distribution along the asymptotic stability bound are specified for the root locus portraits of the systems. On this basis the stability conditions are derived, graphic-analytical method is worked out for calculating intervals of variation for the polynomial family parameters ensuring its (...) robust stability. The discovered regularities of the system root locus portrait behavior allow to extract hurwitz sub-families from the non-hurwitz families of interval polynomials and to determine whether there exists at least one stable polynomial in the unstable polynomial family. In The Face of Emotions, which was Carroll Izard’s first major attempt at elaborating his differential emotions theory (DET), he stated that the book “presents a theoretical framework for the study of emotions and their role in personality and interpersonal processes.” Yet, over the years, his contribution to personality theory has generally been overshadowed by the attention focused on his views on facial expressions and the structure of emotions. This article will begin with a brief overview of the DET perspective (...) on personality development. Then, it will examine how the DET framework can be used to organize recent findings from three lines of research on adult personality.
